ICFreedom
The ultimate plan of Creative Freedom is to form a sister non-profit organization called ICFreedom, the name deriving from the idea that you must first see something before you can have it and such is the case with freedom.
The purpose of ICFreedom will be to impact people both in the United States and abroad through the power of relationship. By taking advantage of the technologies we have today, we are able to bridge societies across the far reaches of the globe. We believe all humanity has much to offer. Whereas we in the western world may have more financially, there is a joy and strength in the African soul which we lack here. Through ICFreedom, we believe that by connecting our cultures the insights and understandings we each possess can be shared for greater impact as a whole.
Our initial focus, then, is to establish a business mentoring program where businesses here could assist entrepreneurs in Uganda with knowledge and management skills. In the same way, the people there can teach us about the power of community and relating to those around us, a human quality we're quickly losing sight of with the ever rise of technology. Growing in this manner of connecting with those different from us, opens the doors for new successes, not just for them but for us as well.
Freedom Writers (2007) is a true story of how an inner-city school teacher took a class of unmanageable students and brought them to unheard of heights. She did this through relationship, creativity, going against the norm, and uniting them with a common cause. There is much we have to learn from this. When applied to the workplace, such a concept could send businesses to untold success. This is the aim of ICFreedom.
